At his concerts, Samidoh often teases the crowd with the phrase “Samidoh ti maraya,” prompting fans to reply, “Samidoh ni maraya.”
While it started as playful banter, the chant gradually came to include his friends, with Karangu often receiving the brunt of the joke.
During some shows, Samidoh would mention Karangu and cheekily manipulate the crowd to chant “Karangu ni maraya,” even when introducing him as "Karangu ni muhunjia," meaning preacher.
After enduring the jibes in silence, Karangu finally voiced his frustrations, telling Samidoh it is painful to hear his name being associated with such vulgar chants, especially considering his gospel background and philanthropic work.
How did Samidoh respond?
In what seemed like a response, Samidoh later took to Facebook on Sunday, July 20, posting a cryptic message alongside a photo of himself posing in front of a police vehicle while still on tour in the US.
He quotes a verse from the bible, writing:
“The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.”
