On Sunday, July 20, the flashy trader took to social media to share a bittersweet video showing Mateo happily floating in a swimming pool.

The post was accompanied by a heart-wrenching caption confirming the toddler’s untimely passing.
As word of Mateo’s death spread, fans and friends joined the family in mourning.
Among them was renowned content creator 2mbili, who posted an emotional tribute on Instagram.
The video shared by 2mbili featured touching moments from Mateo’s birthday celebration.
It showed the bubbly young boy playing inside a bouncing castle at their lavish home, surrounded by decorations bearing his face.
In another moment, 2mbili could be seen teaching Mateo how to drive a massive toy car.
Captioning the emotional clip, 2mbili wrote:
“Just a few weeks ago, Mateo, I hosted your birthday party as you turned 1. This news has really broken my heart. Pole sana watu wangu, King David Mwangi, and your wife. May God give you strength and be with you through this loss. Prince Mateo.”

What was the cause of David Mwangi's son's death?
Mwangi and his wife penned heartbreaking messages mourning their son, admitting that it was the lowest and darkest point of their life.
The 22-year-old mother of two was heartbroken by her secondborn son's death, sharing his last video bonding with family.
Mwangi revealed that Mateo died after drowning in a swimming pool. The grieving father noted that the incident was an accident. The young boy left their holiday house on the morning of July 20, and his parents later discovered he was missing.
After searching everywhere, they discovered his lifeless body in the swimming pool. The forex trader also slammed netizens making insensitive remarks about his son's death.
He painfully admitted that as parents, they were shattered, saying no parent should ever go through such loss. Burial arrangements for Mateo will be announced later.

In other news, renowned comedian KK Mwenyewe has sadly passed away.
Family sources revealed that he died while undergoing treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.
