The comedian who rose to fame by imitating former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua died while undergoing treatment at Level 5 hospital in Kiambu.

His burial preparations have been ongoing with comedians and celebrities coming out in huge numbers to contribute.

Who contributed to KK Mwenyewe's burial plans?

At his memorial, veteran comedian Eddie Butita joined the list of contributors and pledged KSh 20,000.

However, Dennis Itumbi, who offered KSh 100,000, announced that the president offered KSh 1 million.

He also read out a list of politicians who had made efforts to contribute to KK's burial, a day before his burial.

"The governor of Nakuru, Suisan Kihika, called me and I told him I was at this function, and she sent me KSh 200,000. The team here, MCAs, have added me KSh 100,000. The Lari MP, Mburu Kahangara, has given KSh 100,000. Kimani Ichung'wah has given me KSh 100,000," he said.

Itumbi added that Ichung'wah had promised to add him more money when he goes to the funeral.

What many have been asking is why Gachagua has not yet contributed. The late creator loved to share content about the vibrant politician.

How much did celebrities contribute to KK Mwenyewe's funeral?

Content creators are running a WhatsApp group for KK Mwenyewe's funeral updates and contributions ahead of his burial.

TUKO.co.ke has established that apart from President Ruto, a few other politicians, celebrities and influencers also contributed towards the comedian's burial expenses.

Although the list of content creators' contributions wasn't shared, TikToker Baba Talisha revealed he contributed KSh 10,000, and Maureen Kabu gave KSh 20,000.

"Rest in peace KK. Personally, I have never met him, but I enjoyed his videos. Thank you @adequatesafaris for supporting through our MD @maurinekabu, they sent 20k on top of my 10k. May God give peace to his family and friends," Baba Talisha shared.

A member of the WhatsApp group told TUKO.co.ke that there were strict rules not to share anything in the group outside, revealing that most content creators had contributed.

"No amount is small. People have been contributing whatever they have," he said.

What led to KK's death?

Elsewhere, KK's best friend Kafengo revealed that the comedian died beside him while he was awaiting treatment.

He explained that the content creator had privately been battling stomach issues that reoccurred many times.

According to Kafengo, the issue worsened over time, forcing him to seek treatment to manage his condition.

However, on the day that he died, he looked stable and was even making plans, but things escalated when they got to the hospital's waiting line.

What did Gachagua say about KK's death?

In a different report, the former deputy president penned a touching tribute in honour of KK, sparking mixed reactions.

He condoled with his family, referring to him as an excellent creator who not only impacted lives but entertained.

Some netizens criticised him for not meeting the creator, yet he made skits about him for the major part of his career.
