The grieving mother of fallen comedian KK Mwenyewe, real name Zakaria Kariuki, poured out her heart while eulogising her beloved son ahead of his burial today, July 23.

In a deeply emotional moment captured during a visit by President William Ruto’s close aide Dennis Itumbi, the heartbroken mum recounted how KK had been her biggest support system and the sole breadwinner in their family.

KK, known for his viral skits imitating former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, died suddenly after battling recurrent stomach complications.

His untimely demise shocked fans across the country and triggered an outpouring of grief, with many rallying behind his humble family from Lari Constituency, Kiambu county.

What did KK Mwenyewe's mum say about him?

Ruto extended his condolences and support to the family by donating a generous KSh 1 million, which Itumbi delivered.

During the visit, KK’s mother stood to express her gratitude but spoke painfully about the painful loss of her only son.

"I am very grateful for the way that you have stood with me, and you have shown me love. KK was my firstborn son, and I loved him very much. He had promised me that he would do many things for me, but because we cannot question God and he decided to take him away," she said her face ridden with grief.

She pleaded for prayers, revealing the depth of her sorrow and the void left by her son's passing.

"What I would kindly ask, is that you pray for me, so that I can overcome, sababu si rahisi. Now, when I go online, I know that I will be seeing him. I used to talk to him all day. Now I will be seeing him and thinking that I will come to call him in the evening and have a conversation with him. Naomba mniombee ili niweze kupoa roho yangu kwa sababu si rahisi," she added emotionally.
