Popular YouTuber and content creator Thee Pluto, alias Robert Ndegwa, has opened up on his bumpy road to financial independence, admitting to losing millions in failed business ventures.

Speaking in an interview with TV47, Pluto shared how his hunger for success pushed him to take risky leaps in business, some of which cost him dearly.

Pluto, who gained popularity not only for his loyalty test videos but also for his entrepreneurial mindset, revealed that his journey started when he secretly dropped out of university, keeping it hidden from his parents.

"My parents only found out after my cousin graduated. I told them that there was one year I was not in school, but I would still graduate eventually. My dad would wonder where I was getting money from. It got to a point where I told him to relax, and I would take care of my expenses. Nilikuwa nahustle napata kitu," he said.
Driven by the ambition to become rich, Pluto ventured into multiple businesses across different towns, including Juja and Witeithie.
He owned a movie shop, a chips joint, and even tried his luck in the bike hire business.
In Witeithie, he invested in a large hotel, which also failed terribly.
His most significant loss came from a venture into short-stay rentals.
He revealed that he launched three Airbnb apartments in Mombasa, each with monthly rents of around KSh 150,000, but they collapsed, leaving him with a combined loss of about KSh 6 million.

In addition to the Mombasa losses, Pluto also noted that he lost around KSh 1.5 million in another failed business in Witeithie and ran boutiques on Moi Avenue that were shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Did Thee Pluto move out of his mansion?
Previously, Pluto lived in a spacious seven-bedroom mansion in Utawala, which he owned.
After parting ways with his baby mama, Felicity Shiru, and their daughter, he decided to move out and list the house for rent on social media.
Pluto explained the move, saying that he felt lonely after they left and wanted a smaller space.
