The catchy track and its memorable character, Mzee Tupa Tupa, which Matovolo played, put him into the limelight.
Who is Lumole Matovolo?
However, after the song's success, Matovolo faded from the limelight until recently, when a content creator tracked him down for an exclusive interview.
Matovolo, who now works in the creative industry sector for the Tanzanian government, spoke about his role in the music video.

He explained that Bahati approached him with the idea of starring in the video and was paid KSh 15,000 (TSh 300,000) for his role as the main character.
"The song was composed by Bahati Bukuku, and it belongs to her. She asked me to be a video vixen. She came here, explained the idea to me, and told me the amount she was willing to offer. I told her to raise the offer, and she did. We agreed, and I featured in the music video," Matovolo said.
Matovolo praised Bahati and described their relationship as one of close friendship.
"We are still friends. Bahati is like my sister. We usually talk and laugh. She is a good person. She is a close friend. If you approach her with a problem, she can solve it, and she will help you," he added.

Reflecting on the song's lyrics, which playfully suggest that the character is wealthy and attractive, Matovolo jokingly agreed with the part about being handsome but funnily disagreed with the portrayal of his wealth.
"She was correct when she said I am handsome. The only lie was that I was wealthy, but the rest are correct. I'm handsome," he laughed.
