Sam is now facing one of the most challenging battles of his life, undergoing chemotherapy as part of his treatment.

The professional barber has been documenting his experience on Instagram, keeping fans informed and engaged while also receiving overwhelming support from them.

How is Kitiki Sam doing?

In his latest update on Thursday, July 24, Sam shared progress in his battle, specifically regarding his weight.

In a short video shared on his Instagram Stories, he proudly stepped onto the weighing scale.

The clip showed an increase in weight to 53 kilograms, up from just 40 kilograms a few days earlier.

"I will beat this," he noted.

Kitiki Sam's post-chemotherapy experience

In another post, Sam shared a photo taken the day after his chemotherapy treatment, describing the struggle of trying to smile while enduring intense pain.

"Three minutes on my chair battling cancer. When I took this picture, I was ready to ..... it all, I was tired and done. Trying to crack a smile amid pain," he captioned the photo.

In a more reflective post, Sam opened up about the emotional toll the illness has taken on him.

"Today was heavy. My heart feels like it's carrying stones. I've been on flight mode, emotionally numb ever I got sick. Sometimes it's in the silent moments, the medicine schedules, the lonely meals, the whispered prayers. This journey is testing me, reshaping me, and breaking me open in places I never thought I still held wounds. If you're going through something heavy, just know you're not alone," he continued.

Kitiki Sam speaks on challenges

Sam continued to speak about the emotional and physical challenges he faces every day.

"Three minutes on my chair, battling cancer. My body keeps on changing day in, day out the pain is constant. One minute I'm well, the next am on a hospital bed. Nausea is a day-to-day norm. No matter what, I crack that smile; this is fought mentally. I fight this one hour at a time," he shared.

How much does Kitiki Sam need for his treatment?

Recently, during a live session, Sam expressed his gratitude to fans who sent in donations, reading their names aloud.

He disclosed that his medical expenses amount to nearly KSh 1 million.

Specifically, Sam mentioned that each daily shot costs KSh 2,800, and he has chemotherapy sessions that run KSh 34,000 each; he is set to undergo his eighth session next week.

As for Kitiki Sam's current location, he's been staying at his sister's home in Nairobi while undergoing treatment.

He is still offering barbering services through client visits, despite not being able to work at a barbershop.
