Mulamwah Says Facebook Earned Him KSh 1.1 Million: "Ujanja Ni Kukaa Mjinga"

Mulamwah, a comedian and media personality, has claimed that he made a huge KSh 1.1 million through Facebook monetisation. This news shocked and inspired many Kenyans.

The comic posted a screenshot of his Facebook earnings dashboard to his Instagram Stories, showing the impressive six-figure payout. The entertainer added a funny caption to the post.

He wrote:

“Facebook is finally paying. Ujanja ni kukaa mjinga. Facebook imechangamka.”

Is Mulamwah earning from Facebook?

He first shared his June earnings, amounting to 8,844 USD (KSh 1,145,598), then his July earnings, KSh 774,021.

The news sparked online discussions, with fans praising the comedian for earning money from his work and some admitting they were unaware of the substantial income Facebook generates for content creators.

Mulamwah has always had a loyal fan base thanks to his funny skits and content that people can relate to.

Many people know him from his time on the radio and his public relationship drama, but it appears he's also been quietly earning money from his social media work.

When he and his ex, Ruth K, were feuding, he had asked her to air their dirty laundry so they could make money from it, aside from the public ridicule they would receive.

Mulamwah has previously discussed earning money outside of traditional platforms.

With this latest update, the comedian joins a growing list of Kenyan artists who are making a lot of money from digital platforms.

This demonstrates that when executed effectively, content can generate substantial revenue.

Apart from Mulamwah, Baba Talisha also shared a screenshot showing the amount he has earned from Meta after monetising his Facebook account.

He disclosed he made KSh 15,650 in three days.

According to Facebook, to earn money on the platform, you need to meet specific eligibility criteria, including having a professional mode profile, a certain number of followers, and complying with Facebook's monetisation policy

There are other celebrities with over one million followers, like Mulamwah, who might also earn handsomely from Meta.

Eric Omondi, with 3.1 m followers, is eligible to earn. The comedian-turned-human-rights-activist has been using his influence to help Kenyans in need.

Eric has won hearts for coming through for vulnerable Kenyans, and he recently rallied support for an ailing Githurai mum, whose sons change her diapers.

Jackie Matubia has 1.5 million followers and has been using her page to share mostly personal updates and to promote her content creation. The actress is yet to reveal whether she has started monetising her account.

With 1.2 million followers, Karangu Muraya also uses his Facebook account for advertising, and it is unclear if he is on the list of top earners or not eligible to monetise.

Muthoni, aka Baby Top, the Kameme FM presenter, is also among the most followed celebrities on Facebook with 1.3 million followers.

What happened to Ruth K and Mulamwah?

In other news, Mulamwah and his ex Ruth gave gossipers more fodder when they aired each other's dirty laundry.

The comedian claimed that Ruth dumped him after listening to her friends, who asked her to leave him.

Mulamwah claimed that they were jealous of their relationship, and he regretted introducing the said friends to Ruth.

In a hilarious turn of events, he jokingly asked her to return the set of teeth he had helped her acquire.

The two later apologised after leaking each other's private photos.
