Content creator Kafengo has spoken for the first time since the burial of his best friend, Zakaria Kariuki, aka Mr KK Mwenyewe.

KK died on July 15 at the Thika Level 5, where he had gone to seek treatment.

The comedian was buried in an emotional ceremony, with family paying glowing tributes to him.

KK was described as a mentor, inspiration and hard worker by his siblings, who admitted he had left a void no one can fill.

How much did Kenyans contribute to KK Mwenyewe's funeral?

Kafengo has come out to share details of how much he received from Kenyans after a section of KK's fans demanded accountability.

In a video he shared on social media, Kafengo and the treasurer of the funeral committee revealed how much cash they collected and how it was used.

"On the first day we hosted a TikTok live and managed to collect KSh 103,000, on the second day KSh 102, 000, and on the third day, we collected KSh 28,000. On Monday, July 21, during the memorial event at Blue Springs Hotel, we managed to collect KSh 179,00. In total, we collected KSh 766,000 both from the till number and TikTok live," the treasurer said.

The team took some of the cash and used it on KK's burial expenses.

"We used KSh 563,000 on the burial expenses, and the balance, KSh 203,000 will be sent to KK Mwenyewe's mother," he shared.

The committee's chairman revealed that the family would be given KK's equipment, including an iPhone and lights.

He urged fans to help Kafengo and the other crew members get their own equipment for shooting content, as they have nothing to use.

How much did William Ruto contribute to KK's funeral?

During the comedian's memorial, Dennis Itumbi revealed that President William Ruto had contributed KSh 1 million to the family.

Itumbi gave KSh 100,000 and revealed that Nakuru governor Susan Kihika contributed KSh 200,000.

Kiambu MCAs also contributed KSh 100,00, Kimani Ichung'wah KSh 100,000 and Lari MP Mburu Kahangara gave KSh 100,000. The cash was given to KK Mwenyewe's family during the event.

The comedian was laid to rest on Wednesday, July 23, in Lari, Kiambu county.

Videos from the morgue showed sad scenes as family and friends viewed KK's body.

During the burial, KK's mum was overwhelmed by emotions and was taken away from the gravesite.

KK Mwenyewe's younger sister, whose emotional tribute to her beloved brother moved mourners, wailed uncontrollably as his body was lowered into the grave.

The young lady was seen surrounded by relatives who tried to comfort her before taking her away.

The content creator's girlfriend, Pauline, also burst into tears after throwing soil into his grave.

A friend was seen comforting the heartbroken lady who was crying next to Dem wa Facebook, who was also in tears.
