Philanthropist Eric Omondi has accompanied a Githurai boy who acts as a caregiver for his ailing mother to visit their school.

Millicent Maina’s plight was first highlighted by actress Dorea Chege and her partner DJ Dibull.
The couple had discovered that Millicent had been bedridden for four years and dependent on her young sons for care, and they took action to raise awareness and offer support.

Their emotional visit moved many online, prompting Eric to show up and witness the family’s plight firsthand.
He found the mother struggling to breathe as her 11-year-old son managed her oxygen supply, a moment that left him visibly shaken.

Eric immediately started fundraising, and all of Millicent’s M-Pesa numbers reached their maximum limit, forcing them to set up a paybill number.
On Friday, July 25, the philanthropist shared an update.
He shared a video walking with the elder boy and his seven-year-old brother as they headed to their school.
What did Eric Omondi do at Githurai school?
Numerous students recognised Eric and excitedly went to greet him as he walked with the brothers.
Addressing his followers, Eric said the eldest, Simon, wanted to become a doctor and even got him a stethoscope, while his brother’s name is Sammy.
The staff members gathered and clapped for the young man.
Eric said that the school informed him that the two boys had excelled in class.
“These kids are heroes. If you sent anything, God bless you. To the Githurai community, thank you so much,” he said, calling on Kenyans to keep sending money.
