One of her nannies, Liz, responded, hurling insults at whoever was spreading the rumour.

"Yule anasema ni... hajui kile anaongea," she responded.

Another nanny, Mary, claimed that whoever was spreading the rumour wanted to be employed by Vera.

"If the person does not have work let them ask you for work," she added.

Violet, who takes care of Vera's son, said that the rumour monger was their greatest enemy and they needed to steer clear of them.

"Whoever is saying that is our greatest enemy we are supposed to take care."
