He explained that, for a while, he chose not to fight the perception but rather let it exist, knowing it could work to his advantage.
“I actually decided to let that perception be… without addressing it, that I am spending her money. But now, at the end of the day, we still have that money. Whether it’s hers or mine, we still have it,” he said.
The gospel star revealed that the public chatter unexpectedly helped propel his career to new levels.
“What that perception did for me is that it opened up doors. Almost every week, I was releasing a song because now I had an audience I did not have before. The same people who used to bash me were now giving me the money without realising it,” he noted.
Guardian Angel also shared that when he first met Musila, he knew she was more financially established, but had no intention of living off her.

Why did Guardian Angel build house at wife's rural home?
Previously, Guardian and Musila sparked debate on cultural traditions after opening up about their choice to build a rural home in Ukambani, Esther’s birthplace.
During a joint conversation, Musila asked Guardian why he decided to build the house on her family land.
He explained that the decision was largely based on practicality, pointing out that travelling to his ancestral home in Butere takes too much time and makes it hard to oversee farming and other projects.
