Taking to social media after the show, Samidoh shared several photos from the night and thanked his fans for their unwavering support.

Quoting Psalm 107:1, the singer wrote:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Words are just not enough to express how grateful I am for the warm welcome home you gave me last night. May the good Lord always favour you.”

What happened at the homecoming show?

While the event was meant to celebrate his return, it did not come without its fair share of drama.

The biggest talking point was Samidoh’s bold decision to lead anti-government chants during the performance, something that’s drawn sharp attention, especially given his ties to the police service.

The chants echoed those of his close friend and politician Rigathi Gachagua, a known critic of President William Ruto.

Samidoh also danced and sang along to Kasongo Yeye, which has become an anthem for those criticising the government.

The moment appeared to be a direct jab at the president and further raised eyebrows, considering the singer’s disciplinary issues within the police force.

He did not stop there. Samidoh seemingly aimed another dig at his former lover, nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, through a cheeky song that sparked online speculation.

Besides the music and political undertones, the event was also marked by a physical altercation.

A nominated MCA from Murang’a, Sharleen Wambui, was involved in a heated confrontation with Embu Senatorial aspirant Samuel Ireri.

Videos seen by TUKO.co.ke showed the pair exchanging blows, adding to the party's controversies.

Will Samidoh quit the police service?

Away from the stage, Samidoh’s return has also rekindled conversations about his position in the police service.

During his tour, the singer was declared a deserter after allegedly failing to report to his new post in Gilgil under the Anti-Stock Theft Unit.
