Adequate Safaris CEO Maurine Kabu has broken her silence after allegations emerged suggesting she is romantically involved with her father, Simon Kabu, the co-founder of Bonfire Adventures.

The claims stem from a court case filed by Simon's ex-wife, Sarah Njoki, who alleged that the two share more than just a familial bond.
Sarah alleged that Simon only began referring to Maurine as his daughter after their 15-year marriage had ended, a detail she claimed was never disclosed during their time together.
In divorce documents seen by TUKO.co.ke, Sarah claimed she only learnt about Maurine’s relationship to Simon after their marriage fell apart.

She further alleged that Maurine now lives in her former matrimonial home and has benefited from joint properties previously registered under her and Simon’s names.
Is Maurine Kabu dating her dad?
While Simon has publicly dismissed the accusations, Maurine had remained largely quiet until now.
In a recent social media post, Maurine shared a photo of her and Simon working together and penned an emotional caption:
"My dad has been my biggest mentor, the one who shaped who I am. What’s that one unforgettable thing your dad did for you?"
She had also posted vacation videos showing her and Simon enjoying time in Zanzibar, horse-riding through ocean waters, and posing for photos in what appeared to be a father-daughter getaway.
The pair were also recently spotted during a night out, enjoying what was described as a father-daughter date, a move some interpreted as a subtle response to the swirling rumours.

She explained that when personal boundaries are unclear in public settings, it can lead to misinterpretations, especially when previous family history, such as a bitter divorce, is involved.
“When unresolved marital conflicts spill into the public domain, especially with blended or complex family ties, even normal interactions may be viewed through a lens of suspicion. It’s important for public figures to intentionally define and communicate their relationships clearly, more so when trust has been broken in the past,” she told TUKO.co.ke.

Did Simon Kabu go on date with daughter?
On Saturday, July 27, Kabu and his daughter attended the international Cowboys and Cowgirls Day at the Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.
Father and daughter were among the thousands of country music fans who stunned in cowboy boots and hats as they attended the event. The two wore stylish cowboy hats and boots.
Kabu shared a video dancing to country music with his daughter and a group of friends. Maurine and her father were overexcited as they enjoyed the night.
Commenting on the father-daughter video, many envied their close bond, branding Kabu a great father. The two have been working closely, focusing on pushing their new joint Adequare Safaris tours and travels company.
