The deal is thanks to a promise made by Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy.

The new role comes after a tough period for Kafengo, who recently lost his best friend, Zakaria Kariuki, better known as Mr. KK Mwenyewe.

KK passed away on Monday, July 14, at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital, leaving Kafengo devastated.

Which role did Kafengo play in KK Mwenyewe's funeral?

In the wake of KK’s death, Kafengo took on the challenging responsibility of organising the burial committee, raising funeral funds, and ensuring his friend had a dignified send-off.

He worked tirelessly, coordinating with the family and the community to ensure everything was in place for the funeral, proving his commitment to his late friend.

As part of his efforts to honour KK's memory, Itumbi, who had attended both the funeral fundraiser and the funeral itself, made a promise to support Kafengo.

Keeping his promise, Itumbi has now hired Kafengo to join his team.

How did Dennis Itumbi describe Kafengo?

Taking to social media, Itumbi shared the good news with fans, alongside photos of himself and Kafengo together.

"Just met Kafengo, sharp mind, solid guy with a degree in mathematics with computing," Itumbi wrote in the post.
"Expect algebra-level precision as he tackles real challenges in the content creation world."

Who will pay Kafengo's salary?

Itumbi also revealed that Kafengo’s videographer, Mike, would be joining him in the new role, and that he would be compensating both Kafengo and Mike from his own salary.

"He’s teaming up with Mike (his videographer) to build new platforms with us. For now, we will share my salary, and they will still run their hustle independently. Karibu sana," Itumbi added.
