Karangu has been grabbing headlines for the wrong reasons of late, since early this year when his first wife, Triza, exposed him.
The mother of three alleged that Karangu had abandoned her upcountry and married a second wife, Carol Kim.
Why did Githaiga call Karangu Muraya Cecilia?
Audio of Karangu and Triza's friends, believed to be Tata Essy and Esther Baumbach, gossiping about Triza was leaked on social media by influencer Purity Macharia.
In the audio, the three discussed the mother of three, with one of the friends even exposing her for wearing torn undergarments. The two friends further criticised Triza's circumstances when she had just left the village. Triza reacted to the viral audio, and Baumbach apologised to her.
The audio went viral, with Karangu receiving backlash from netizens.
The gospel singer-turned-philanthropist then publicly apologised to the mother of his children. Karangu expressed deep regret over the pain he caused Triza, acknowledging he had failed as a family man.
"Triza, I have wronged you. I have said and done things that have caused you pain. I know I have failed you, and I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I'm sorry for allowing people I assumed were your friends to discuss you...You are the mother of my children. You deserve respect and protection from me, not pain.I want to say this publicly - I am deeply sorry. From my heart, I am asking you, to forgive me. I want to rebuild the trust I have broken. I want to be a better father to our children, now and in the future," read part of Karangu's apology.
Githaiga, who branded Karangu Aunty Cecilia for gossiping about his wife, claimed that he blocked Triza, and she only learnt about the apology from her friends.
"Do you know Tata Cecilia apologised on Facebook to the woman he blocked, yes, after T complained of Kambiti visiting her child? Triza got the apology via a friend's screenshot. Ati ameombwa msamaha. That's how much he demeans the lady... the apology was for his Facebook followers and brands, not Triza," he claimed.

The remorseful Akorino singer, who has been on the receiving end, shared an emotional post, questioning why Githaiga would give him such a name. He admitted that the 'hatred' towards him was too much.
"Imagine someone calling me Cecilia? Dear Lord, this is too much now...May it disappear like smoke," Karangu posted.
He shared another story, praying that the attention would be diverted to another family after facing criticism from his fans.
"Dear Lord, I divert all this attention to another family in Jesus Mighty Name 🙏," he wrote.
Karangu's post saw his fans divided, with some supporting him and others telling him to stop responding to everything and focus on his brand.
