Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen was among the several politicians who attended the Kenya vs DR Congo clash at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, August 3.

President William Ruto attended the match. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, ICT CS William Kabogo, former prime minister Raila Odinga, MP Oscar Sudi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, and nominated senator Karen Nyamu, among other key dignitaries, attended the match to cheer the boys.
All donned in national team red jerseys, they cheered the boys whenever they had the ball in their possession. The head of state and other dignitaries were tense and anxious throughout the game until the last whistle was blown.
Kenya registered its first win at the CHAN 2024, leaving Kenyans overjoyed.

How many children does Kipchumba Murkomen have?
The Interior CS's two sons were spotted at Kasarani Stadium to support Harambee Stars as they played against DR Congo.
Murkomen and his wife, Gladys Wanjiru, are blessed with three adorable children.
Kiptoo turned 14 in 2022 before he sat for KCPE, and his younger brother, Kibet, who was in Grade 6 the same year, sat for the KPSEA exam. Kibet was nine years old in 2022.
The politician's three sons were spotted making their way to Kasarani Stadium for the CHAN match.
Two of the sons, sporting stylish, rugged hairstyles, walked by each other's side as they enjoyed banter. The CS's sons were all smiles, unaware that paparazzi were recording them.

The three wore the Harambee Stars' red home kit with black trousers and sneakers. They also had smartwatches on. One of the sons wowed Kenyans with his height, with many advising him to try basketball.

What happened to Karen Nyamu at Kasarani Stadium?
Nyamu, Mwaura and Nakuru governor Susan Kihika's husband, Sam Mburu, were denied access to the presidential entrance.
The three arrived late after the president and were turned away when they tried to enter the stadium using the presidential entrance.

How much did William Ruto give Harambee Stars after beating DR Congo?
In a separate story, President Ruto pledged to give the Harambee Stars millions in prize money.
Ruto promised KSh 1 million to each Harambee Stars player and staff for a win, and KSh 500,000 for a draw.
He revealed the national team will also receive KSh 60 million for reaching the quarter-finals, KSh 70 million for advancing to the semi-finals, and KSh 600 million if they win the CHAN tournament.
On Monday, August 4, Ruto kept his promise and gave the team, including 27 players and 15 members of the technical bench, a total of KSH 42 million.
In a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke, the cash was delivered to the team by Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya after they beat DR Congo 1-0.
Kenya will face Angola on Thursday, August 7, and the team will get a similar reward if they win. If they draw, each person will get KSh 500,000.
