Daddie Marto Claims He Took Loan to Build House for Estranged Wife Koku Lwanga’s Parents

Media personality Martin Githinji, alias Daddie Marto, claims he took a loan to help build a house for his estranged wife Koku Lwanga's parents.

Marto released a statement making the claims after he and his estranged partner made headlines in June.
At the time, Koku claimed that Marto was cheating on her, and he had gotten physical when she confronted him for seeing another woman.
When did Marto and Koku separate?
In a press release sent TUKO.co.ke, Marto said that he and his estranged partner separated in December 2024.
"My former partner and I separated in December 2024, initially hoping for resolution. By March 2025, we were done. I moved out by the end of April, choosing to remain close for the children's convenience, a mutual agreement. In May 2025, we drafted and agreed on a joint public statement to be released when the time felt right. This is documented. We were no longer together, in both words and actions and this is a fact, not wishful thinking," he wrote.
He also claimed that he did not abscond from his financial responsibilities while married to Koku and even took a loan to build her parents a house.
The actor claimed that even after moving out of their matrimonial home, he continued covering his family's expenses.

Did Marto take loan for Koku's parents?
Marto noted that he is yet to recover from the hefty loan he allegedly took and has yet to deliver on some of the partnerships he signed.
"I have never abandoned my responsibilities. Even after moving out, I continued covering household expenses, school fees, medical and education cover, utilities, and more. These can be proven with payment receipts, mobile money, and bank statements. This was while still recovering from my July 2024 decision to step back from work to help complete her mother's house in Kerugoya, a project that required my intellectual, emotional, and physical commitment until November.

"When the available funds ran out, I took a loan to finish it as it was at a critical stage, with the hopes of recovering when I went back to work and further owe content deliverables to collaborators. businesses who supported the project with goods and services in exchange for marketing and promotion," he added.
When did Marto's building project begin?
In other news, Marto, in an exclusive with TUKO.co.ke, previously revealed that he was managing his mother-in-law's house.
He shared videos of the unfinished house, which he began in 2019, and also lamented about the challenges he was dealing with.
The actor claimed that he had not slept since taking over the project, and he did not know how tedious it would be.
