The artiste and her daughter, Reyna, first hinted about moving abroad in 2023.
Ruth shared a joyful milestone as they celebrated spending a month in Canada.

A photo she posted online showed the two enjoying the sunshine, sparking speculation among fans about whether the artiste had moved abroad permanently.
In the post, Matete expressed gratitude and positivity, writing:

The post quickly gained traction, with many Kenyans congratulating her and sending well wishes.
In a series of posts on her Instagram stories, Ruth recently announced that she was looking for a new school for her daughter.
Which school will Ruth Matete’s daughter attend?
Ruth asked her followers to wish them luck as they embarked on the move, noting that Reyna should have a school by the time they open.
“Going to check the schools around. She needs to find a school and register before September, when schools open. Hope she will adjust well to her new classmates. Wish us luck,” she wrote.
Lucky for the duo, they quickly found a school, and Ruth shared details about it.
“Thank you for your prayers. As you can see from our smiles, we have a school.
Now we just need to do registration, and Reyna will start when schools open in September,” she announced.
Ruth seemed happy with the fact that the school they found is a Christian school, which is based in Ontario.
“The school is called Burkvale Protestant School, which is a Christian school.
So glad that she can go to a Christian school. Help us in thanking the Lord.”
Ruth also shared a photo with a kind school employee who helped them with the registration process.
According to the website, the institution is the only remaining protestant separate school in Ontario. It has a long history, as it was originally constructed in 1882.

In other news, Ruth shared her relief after being cleared in the investigation into her husband’s tragic death.
Her late spouse, Pastor John Apewajoye, sustained severe burns in a gas explosion at their home.
Despite initial signs of recovery after ICU treatment, he passed away a few days later.

Following the incident, Matete faced accusations and was unable to bury him for nearly three months, as investigators seized evidence, including gas cylinders and phones.
