"Nairobi Ilogo Dichiel is a comedy show, set up in a less privileged area of Nairobi, addressing the different challenges ambitious young people face in the city. Apart from the fact that it is our native language, Dholuo culture has been activated in the country, and fisherfolk are now finding the need to look back within. This is why events like Fisherman’s Experience, Malaika Festival and Luo Festival are receiving much hype. We are serving comedy to a hungry audience," said Kwach.

The comedy show scheduled for August 15 is set to give fans a night of endless laughter and enlighten them about the plight of young people in the city.

"It is very crucial to selfishly protect our heritage because it is only through art that we can pass down the unique heritage our ancestors passed down. Preservation is the key function of our art, alongside information and entertainment," he added.

Is Kwach planning to do comedy tours?

While many are anticipating seeing how the comedians will execute the show, the question fans are asking is if they are planning to take the shows to other counties after Nairobi.

" The show is happening at the Kenya National Theatre on 15th August, starting at 7 pm. Luo comedy can bridge the cultural gap because right now we have many from different communities who have shown interest in our work, forcing us to incorporate subtitles in our work, meaning this is the best way to inform and attract people from different backgrounds to the robust Luo culture. The journey has only started in Nairobi, and we are excited to see where it takes us," further said Kwach.
