Kenyan actor Dedan Juma Onyango, better known for his role as Zeze on Showmax's Pepeta, is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

What disease is Dedan Juma suffering from??

Juma is at Kenyatta University Referral Hospital after being diagnosed with meningitis.

His family shared the news on social media, revealing that Juma has been battling the illness for over a week.

As of Monday, August 11, 2025, his medical bills had reached KSh 100,000 and are continuing to rise.

Dedan Juma's emotional appeal

In an emotional appeal to his fans online, Juma asked for financial support to help cover his growing medical expenses.

"Greetings to you fellow Kenyans, I am kindly appealing to you my fans and kind fellow Kenyan community, whoever is in a position to help. This is a difficult journey alone, I hope and pray that you can stand with me in this. I appreciate any support," he wrote in a post on social media.

Juma also welcomed visitors to the hospital, providing visiting hours from 12:30 pm to 2pm at Ward Ostrich, Bed Number 20.

Since the announcement, fans have flooded his social media with messages of support, sending their prayers for his quick recovery.

Was Dedan Juma's house damaged by fire?

On Tuesday, January 21, Juma posted a video online revealing that his mabati house had suffered damage due to a fire.

In the video, he documented the aftermath, showing both the neighbor’s house that was completely burned down and his own quarters which were affected.

The clip showed damage to his roof as onlookers climbed up to help put out the flames.

Additionally, one side of the living room wall, constructed from iron sheets, was impacted, and Juma displayed his bedroom where a mattress lay on the floor.

Two days later, he shared a photo of repairs being made to the roof and expressed his gratitude to fans for their support.
