What did Matiang'i wear in Minnesota?

The footage was posted by Huldah Momanyi-Hiltsley, who serves in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Huldah became the first politician of Kenyan origin to secure a seat in a US state assembly. Born in Kenya, Huldah's father moved abroad before the entire family eventually relocated.

Matiang'i strolled in what appeared to be a park with Huldah, who wore a skirt suit. Numerous security guards were on hand to ensure the politicians were unharmed. However, a couple of them could be seen laughing, leading to questions about their qualifications.

What stole the show, however, was Matiang'i’s choice of outfit. The presidential hopeful donned khaki trousers, a white shirt, and a striped coat.

What threw many TikTok users off were his shoes. Instead of formal shoes, he opted for sports shoes, an aspect not lost on TikTok users.

Kenyans reacted to the clip with humour, with one even joking that he had borrowed the style of a fellow opposition politician. Huldah was not spared either.

In other news, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua visited Dallas, Texas, where he met Kenyans living and working in the state.

He engaged with the diaspora community, listening to their perspectives while sharing his vision for the country’s future.

Before the meeting, Gachagua and his wife, Dorcas, toured an expansive Texas property with a lush garden, garage, and cattle section.

The home featured a sign reading “Karibu Wamunyoro, Texas,” a nod to his Nyeri residence.

The couple posed for photos around the grounds, and Gachagua remarked on the warm welcome that made him feel at home despite being thousands of miles away. The visit sparked lighthearted reactions from Kenyans online.
