Toxic Lyrikali has once again found himself at the center of a social media storm due to his dalliance with President William Ruto’s government.

It all started following the Backbencher hitmaker appearance at a State House event in Nairobi on Saturday, August 9.
The occasion, hosted by Ruto, featured the distribution of business equipment to youth groups as part of a national empowerment drive.
Why did fans threaten to cancel Toxic Lyrikali?
In a video from the event, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie was seen ushering the rapper to a spot in front of the president before prompting him to make a statement suggesting Ruto would serve two terms.

After initially continuing with his set, Toxic returned to the microphone to repeat the phrase, later greeting the president and posing for photos.
He subsequently hinted on social media that he had been pressured into making the remark, a move that angered some supporters who accused him of political endorsement.
Is Toxic Lyrikali supporting Ruto?
On Wednesday, August 13, Toxic sent a message that further divided fans on social media.
He initially wrote:
“Mboka Doba two term!”
The phrase, popularized by him, generally refers to good music.
However, many Kenyans viewed it as the rapper endorsing Ruto’s second bid.
Toxic edited the message by adding:
“Kasongo must go.”
His sentiments became the subject of social media speculation, with fans sharing mixed views. Some expressed their unwavering support for Toxic, while others were not as enthusiastic.

In other news, a recent video showed an accident involving George Ruto’s Money Fest matatu.
The PSV was involved in an accident with a boda boda rider along Outering Road, near the Mutindwa footbridge.
Footage captured the vehicle stationary in the middle of the road, a motorbike positioned at its front, and onlookers gathering at the scene.
Passengers were seen disembarking while other cars manoeuvred past.
While the exact cause of the collision remains unclear, online users were divided, with some blaming the rider and others pointing fingers at the matatu’s driving practices.
