Miss Morgan explained that playing the role of a no-nonsense principal on Tahidi High came with a celebrity status that she struggled to maintain.
“I was forced to live in the city because I was forced to meet societal expectations,” she said.
According to the actress, she found herself trying to live to please others, often going beyond her financial means to fit the image that fans and society expected from her.
The actress called out her former employers, claiming that the show generated millions in revenue while the actors received only a small portion.
“If Tahidi High was not bringing in KSh 8 million per week, let them come and ask me a question,” she said, adding that the maximum she earned was KSh 25,000 per episode.
In hindsight, she said this pay disparity was one of the factors that contributed to her depression, alongside the pressures of maintaining her public image.

When did Miss Morgan fall into depression?
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, work dried up, and Miss Morgan found herself unemployed.
This period marked the beginning of a painful descent into depression and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
She admitted to turning to alcohol, a choice she now regrets.
“There is a time between 2018 and 2021, I could count how many days I had not drunk. It was that serious. It became an expensive habit and ended up being an addiction,” she confessed.
Miss Morgan revealed that her struggles with alcoholism brought her to the brink of suicidal thoughts.
She stressed that while her drinking was not extreme in volume, it was damaging enough to her mental health.
“I have made bad choices in life, but mistakes are not supposed to define us,” she said.
Ultimately, she opened up to her mother, who accepted her and supported her recovery journey.
"When I said I needed help, she told me that was the best decision I ever made," she shared.
She also admitted that if given another chance, she might have chosen a different career path altogether.
"I would also tell people to stop this myth of this thing that you have to be perfect. Self-care, well-being, and having a proper support system are paramount. You are only human," she added.
