Bahati, along with his wife Diana Marua, had promised to gift the Harambee Stars KSh 1 million if they won their match against Morocco on Saturday, August 9.

After Kenya's 1-0 win at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, the couple was expected to hand over the reward immediately.

However, fans noticed that Bahati had not followed through on his promise, and the pressure mounted for him to honour his commitment.

Fred Arocho's warning to Bahati

Two weeks later, as the issue remained unresolved, Arocho took to his show on TV 47 to call out Bahati as he expressed his frustration with the delay.

"I have followed Bahati twice. I want to address Bahati. He is my friend and wherever he's listening from, there’s no friendship in this," Arocho said.

He claimed that Bahati had been dodging the issue and recounted his efforts to follow up on the pledge.

Is Bahati making excuses?

Arocho said Bahati told him that he had reached out to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice Chairman McDonald Mariga.

"I called him and he told me he talked with Mariga... Mariga told me that Bahati had told him he was in Naivasha and would remit the pledge after returning to Nairobi. That was last week. On Sunday, August 17, Mariga looked for him after the match with Zambia, and he said he was still away," Arocho said.

While Arocho clarified that he did not criticise Bahati personally, he expressed frustration with the continuous delays.

"He told me he wouldn't go to the dressing room because of protocol issues, and I understood him. But one week after the match, he had not remitted the money," he added.

Arocho issued an ultimatum to Bahati, urging him to make good on his promise.

"Now let me warn Bahati, you will remit that money. You’re not going to use Kenyan players in your clout chasing. You’re going to offer that money. We've given him up to Wednesday. Stop those excuses, go and give the money," the radio host concluded.

What did Harambee Stars players say about Bahati?

As reported earlier, a group of Harambee Stars players reacted to Bahati's unfulfilled pledge.

The trio appeared on Citizen TV on Sunday, August 17, and they called out the musician for not honouring his pledges.
