For the better part of the year, Karangu has made headlines after his first wife, Triza, came out to reveal that her marriage had fallen apart following his union with his second wife, Carol Kim.

1. Triza reveals marriage fell apart
Just after Valentine’s Day, Triza broke down on social media, accusing Karangu of neglecting her and their children since taking in Carol Kim as a second wife.

In a TikTok live session with her then-best friend, Triza detailed how she felt reduced to a lesser wife.
She lamented that while Karangu built Carol a better house in the city, she was left tending livestock at their Gatundu rural home.
She also complained about being given a smaller car, a Mazda Demio, compared to Carol’s Toyota Harrier, and revealed that she did not even have a good phone to communicate.
2. Karangu and Triza exchange blows on TikTok
Following her viral revelations, TikTokers invited the couple to the infamous TikTok Court for mediation.
Instead of reconciliation, the session turned chaotic, with the two airing their dirty laundry live to thousands of viewers.
It was here that Triza learned that Karangu had secretly paid Carol’s dowry without her knowledge, a move that left her devastated.
She revealed that she had already moved out of their marital home and was staying with her friend Tata Essy.
The heated exchange also saw Triza accuse Carol of insulting her with Karangu explaining why he married her.
3. Karangu sends elders to Triza’s parents
In the aftermath, Karangu attempted to mend their differences by involving elders who visited Triza’s parents to mediate.
Her parents urged her to return home, but she flatly refused.
Triza publicly called out Karangu for dragging her parents into their marital woes, insisting that he should leave them out of the drama.
She continued living with Essy and started growing her brand as a singer and a brand ambassador.
4. Karangu and Triza reunite
After months of tense silence, the couple briefly reunited during Triza’s album launch on April 27.
Karangu publicly apologised to her in front of a packed audience, gifting her over KSh 700,000 from his own pocket and contributions from friends to support her budding music career.
He even later bought her a new car to address her earlier grievances.
Their children were visibly emotional as they reunited with their mother, after months apart.
This reunion left many speculating that, behind the scenes, they were truly working towards getting back together.
5. Karangu exposed gossiping about Triza
In August, just when tensions appeared to cool, another scandal erupted.
A leaked audio surfaced online, capturing Karangu gossiping about Triza with her now ex-best friend, Essy, blogger Esther Baumbach, and Purity Macharia.
In the conversation, Essy mocked her for allegedly wearing worn-out underwear when she went to her house after exiting their matrimonial home.
The audio drew backlash, with many criticising Karangu for demeaning his wife.
Though he later apologised in a lengthy statement, the damage was already done.
6. Karangu's heated argument surfaces
Weeks after the underwear recording, another clip surfaced, this time capturing a heated exchange between Karangu and Triza.
In the recording, Triza confronted him about his affair with Carol Kim, sounding distressed and even threatening to end her life if he chose to stay with Carol.
However, Karangu sounded calm and even chuckled as he dismissed her concerns as just threats
The gospel singer faced backlash online for allegedly mistreating his wife.
Responding to the audio, he cried during a live session as he explained that he had recorded the conversation out of fear that Triza might harm herself, and he would be blamed.
He also urged those fueling his marital drama to stop, at least for the sake of his children.

Who leaked the latest Karangu audio?
After the latest audio leaked, Triza accused Carol of being behind it and alleged that she shared it with bloggers.
Karangu's close friend, Dama wa Spares, echoed the claims in a lengthy statement claiming that Carol might have been responsible.
As of this publication, Carol has not addressed the allegations and has remained silent on the matter.
