According to Homa Bay TV, Mapesa was being accused by the elderly of being behind his friend, Hassan Ochieng's death, because he funded the funeral.

While addressing mourners, he angrily lectured the man and reminded him that he can decide to construct buildings all over the place because he has money.

Mapesa also reminded mourners that they were using speakers that he bought with his money and that he catered to his friend's funeral.

"You have eaten and drunk cheap liquor worth KSh 100. You should use your head if you are poor and tell me, 'My child, I am so and so, give me money so I can go drink something with decorum'. You hear me? How do you come in front of people and start saying the things you were saying? In this village, I have my money. Tomorrow, I may wake up and build this whole place such that it looks like the State House," he said.

Mapesa has in the past been accused of joining the Illuminati, something that he has publicly denied.

However, in his address at the funeral, he asked the elderly man why he had not yet joined the Illuminati so he could also get money.

"Do not bring me your issues. We do not come to the village, not because we do not want to. Isn't this the microphone I bought, and the speakers too, with the money I got from the Illuminati? Look at you, both God and Satan have refused to give you money. Someone should not bring their foolishness my way. This burial is like this because of my money," he further said.

Did Amber Ray ask for money from Mapesa?

Elsewhere, Mapesa once leaked screenshots of a WhatsApp chat he claimed to have had with renowned socialite Amber Ray.

In the alleged messages, Amber appeared to confess she was broke and pleaded with Mapesa for financial help. He turned her down, urging her to stop living to impress social media.

However, Amber quickly hit back, dismissing his claims, insisting she had never met him, and accused him of clout chasing with her name.
