Shangazi also met with philanthropist Kawira via TikTok, who has helped the Kakuma community in Turkana access water.

Fardosa and Apoo had never met Kawira

During an interview with Citizen TV's Lulu Hassan, she surprised the trio with the appearance of Kawira, who joined the interview via a video call.

Kenyans were surprised that Fardosa and Apoo had never seen Kawira; they knew her only by name.

"She has been helping them, but surprisingly, they have never seen her. She usually sends money, and Shangazi buys them some necessities," Lulu said.
"She is so beautiful," Apoo said.

Kawira revealed that she visited Lokichogio 10 years ago, and when she came across Shangazi's page, she saw the need to help.

"I love you so much, may you enjoy your time. I will continue helping you in whatever way I can. I was living in Lokichogio more than 10 years ago. I know how hard life is there. Basic needs like water, food are hard to come by. When I stumbled upon Shangazi’s page, I saw the good work she was doing. I decided to join in and help them. I helped them get water, and we started contributing and taking the kids to school, plus building them a house," Kawira said.

When Shangazi spoke with Kawira, tears overwhelmed her as she became emotional listening to her words of encouragement.

"It's hard what you are doing. Not many people can do it. Just know I am behind you 100 per cent," Kawira told Shangazi.

When Fardosa and Apoo saw that Shangazi teared up, they also broke down in tears.

Kawira encouraged Kenyans to support Shangazi's foundation and stop criticising the work she does.

"She is doing an amazing job, and they should be behind her with moral support. Financial support is helpful but they should encourage her and pray for her," she added.
