Was Gachagua attacked?
A day ago, TUKO.co.ke reported that police had to lob teargas at goons who stoned Gachagua on his way home from the airport.
The DCP leader’s motorcade was making its way from JKIA to Nairobi’s CBD when it came under attack from stone-hurling goons.
Police responded by firing tear gas to disperse the attackers as some of Gachagua’s supporters retaliated, escalating the chaos.
The incident left Kenyans with mixed reactions, with the majority condemning the incident as an infringement of Gachagua's rights.
Some also defined the moment as a sign of Gachagua's future political career, claiming that he is likely to replace Raila Odinga's influence.
What did Gachagua's allies say about his return?
Elsewhere, Gachagua's close allies claimed that he was notified that about 100 police officers had been sent to arrest him.
Nyandarua senator John Methu thanked their supporters who showed up in huge numbers, which prevented the alleged arrest.
Malala had earlier noted that they were aware of arrest plans, but they put in measures to prevent their leader from being apprehended.
