Exodus recalled being a loyal fan of Mwakideu and Lang’ata MP Jalang’o, alias Phelix Odiwuor, back when they were an iconic duo on radio.

Their chemistry inspired him so much that he once decided to visit their studio, convinced that he too could make it as a radio presenter.

However, the encounter did not go exactly as he had imagined.

While Mwakideu appreciated his passion and ambition, he offered him an honest piece of advice.

“He told me to go and start my own thing, something that when you come with it here, it will also be easy for me to back you in front of the bosses. Right now, what can I go tell them? No one knows you here. That was the first person in my life to plant the seed of me going out to do content,” Exodus recalled.

Mwakideu further pointed out that since the COVID-19 pandemic had just hit, securing a radio job without an additional skill would be even harder.

Did MC Exodus sleep in a toilet?

MC Exodus once shared that during a tough period in his life, he lived inside a toilet at Winners Chapel Church in South B, Nairobi.

At the time, he had no place to live and found temporary shelter within the church compound as he was active in the youth fellowship, which often held regular meetings.

The toilet he stayed in was barely used during weekdays, which made it easier to remain unnoticed.
