Veteran musician Noti Flow has opened up about working with her ex, Colonel Mustafa, despite his recent interview about their past relationship.

Mustafa recently came out to share his regrets about dating Noti Flow and claimed they dated to be in the showbiz business.

He also added that thanks to him, his exes, Huddah Monroe and Noti, went on to have flourishing careers.

However, Noti, in a relationship with TUKO.co.ke, had praises for the Maloko hitmaker and revealed the reason they chose to work together on a project.

The duo went back to the studio and sampled a throwback song Katika, which has now been topping charts in Kenya.

What led Noti Flow to work with Mustapha?

"I wanted to bring him back in the game. He is a legend who we are sleeping on. He has also been through a lot lately, and I think he deserves better. He is humble and kind, and I can only wish him well," she said.

As for their remixed Katika song, Noti said that she loved it since she was young and wanted to sample it.

"I have always loved the original 'Katika' song by Duex Vultures since childhood, especially the beats, so I thought it would be great to sample it with Mustapha and bring it back to life," she added.

Noti, in April, announced that she was celebrating her first anniversary with her boyfriend Justin Maina.

She shared photos showing their lovey-dovey moments as she marvelled at how far they have come and the things they are planning in the future.

The artiste revealed to TUKO.co.ke that she had to discuss with her boyfriend about collaborating with her ex after it almost caused tension.

"At first, it did, but I sat down with my guy and explained to him that it's all just work, and he understood. He is very supportive of me. He even paid for half of the video's budget," she further said.

She now hopes that the boyfriend will soon take things to the next level and put the ring on it.

How did Noti leave her ex?

Noti was previously in a relationship with renowned stud, King Alami, before things took a different turn after her accident.

When her hospital bill shot up, Noti mobilised netizens to help raise funds for Alami, attracting praise online.

However, upon her discharge, Noti took to social media to bid her ex goodbye and politely asked her to move on.
