Kamau is the current Chairperson for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for the Zimmerman Ward.

A source confirmed to TUKO.co.ke that the young man is among the top names which are being considered to fly the UDA ticket.

Where will Johnny Boy run for MP?

The former Churchill Show told TUKO.co.ke that he will be going for the Roysambu parliamentary seat.

The aspirant argued that party politics is the cancer in Kenyan politics and not tribalism and corruption.

"The Kenyan disease is not corruption nor tribalism, it is party politics," Kamau stated.

He also explained the need for all politicians to embrace the already-established parties and not rush to form new ones.

Why did Johnny Boy critique Kenya's political system?

He argued that it is individuals who are elected but fail to deliver, rather than the political parties themselves, that are to blame.

In his words:

"In America, for example, we have two parties, the Republicans and the Democrats. When things don't work, the electorates change leaders, not the parties; the leaders go home, but the party remains. Whereas in Kenya, it's exactly the opposite, when things don't work, we change the Parties, not the leaders. The parties go home, and the leaders remain the same ones. They've made us believe that the problem is the parties and not them. Question, is it the party that delivers or it's those elected within the said parties?"

Did Johnny Boy go broke?

As previously reported, the former comedian once faced financial hardship and appealed for help due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He shared with TUKO.co.ke that during this difficult time, he lived at Zimmerman Canopy, in a place called Sidian. However, after a prolonged period of lockdown, his savings were depleted.

To make matters worse, the house had no electricity, meaning he had to live in darkness and rely on charging his phone at local shops. Even though the country eventually eased restrictions and moved past the pandemic, life never returned to normal for him.

Johnny revealed that the only job he managed to secure after things took a turn for the worse was working as a pool attendant, a position that doesn’t offer much pay.

When asked why he didn’t reach out to Churchill for help, Johnny explained that his mother had always taught him to solve his problems independently.

He admitted it took him over a year to openly speak about his struggles because he could no longer bear to suffer in silence.
