In an emotional statement, Sifuna reflected on Oduor’s crucial role in Raila’s inner circle, admitting that navigating Mzee’s (Raila's) space was no easy task.
"Being Raila’s bodyguard is easily the toughest job in Kenyan politics. George Oduor did it with quiet grace and steadfast dedication. Back when I was new in Mzee’s circles, I would never have got the hang of things were it not for George’s guidance," Sifuna stated.
Sifuna emphasised how Oduor’s disciplined nature made it nearly impossible for just anyone to be around Raila.
“You can’t just ‘be around’ Mzee. It’s very, very complicated, and I will always be grateful to George for holding my hand,” he said.
The Nairobi senator concluded his tribute with a heartfelt farewell: "May his soul rest in peace."
