On May 1, 2024, during his Labour Day speech at Uhuru Gardens, Ruto also embraced his viral moniker, Zakayo.
Embracing his popular nicknames, Ruto said they don't faze him as long as his goal to transform the country continues unhindered.

In March, during his tour of Nairobi city, Ruto served kids of Toi Primary and Umoja 1 Primary schools chapatis for lunch on separate dates.
While serving kids at Umoja 1 Primary School, the commander-in-chief could be heard referring to himself as El Chapo, his latest nickname.

Ruto asks Kenyans to stop giving him nicknames
A few weeks back, TUKO.co.ke reported that the president asked Kenyans to slow down on giving him nicknames.
Speaking at a rally in Lang'ata in March, Ruto questioned why he keeps getting nicknames from Kenyans.
He mentioned the first he was given years back, and others before his most recent one, Kasongo.
Ruto, in a light manner, asked how many nicknames he was going to have if the people kept adding more to the pile.
Caren Nyota, Head of Entertainment Desk, contributed to this article adding details of how William Ruto embraced nicknames, Kasongo and Zakayo.
