Babu celebrated it with a touching recall of how he braved the challenges in his childhood to achieve his academic success.

The lawmaker revealed he was from a low-income household, a factor that would have otherwise suppressed his desire to scale heights in academia.

It is his determination and self-drive that have seen him this far, he said.

According to Babu, the urge to study law was sparked by his mother's tribulations at the hands of the police.

The MP recalled how his mother was often troubled by the authorities over her alcohol business, which she was using to take care of them as a single parent.

Kenyans and his colleagues in parliament thronged his social media pages to celebrate his achievement with him.

"Congratulations my MP start with Samia suluhu now," said Marion Eva Chella.
'Personally I don't like Babu,but hii lazima nimpee congratulations," said Farouk Kibet.
"Congratulations incoming Nairobi governor," said Phenny.
"Congratulations Babu Owino. This is exciting. The future is now luminous, donge? You are now an advocate of the high court of Kenya. This has been your dream since our days decades ago in Kisumu. You are a very brilliant man. I am so happy for you. Whatever you set your heart and mind to achieve, with God at the centre, consider it done," said Tom Mboya.

What will Babu Owino do with his law career?

The MP expressed his commitment to using his legal expertise to advocate for marginalised Kenyans.

He emphasised that his presence in court would enhance his ability to champion justice, complementing his previous efforts in the National Assembly.

He pledged to leverage his new status to drive positive change in society and hold the government accountable on critical matters.

Balancing multiple pursuits, the lawmaker now stands as an advocate of the High Court, while simultaneously striving for professional growth in economics.

Currently, he is undertaking a master’s degree in Economics, which marks his third postgraduate qualification.

Which other credentials does Babu Owino have?

An alumnus of the University of Nairobi (UoN), Babu holds several academic credentials, including a degree in actuarial science, followed by a master’s degree in actuarial science and law.

He has also earned six diplomas.
