Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen made the event even more memorable by gifting a car to Reverend Chemjor as a token of appreciation.
The vehicle was handed over by Mogotio Member of Parliament Reuben Kiborek, who represented the CS during the church service.

"It was a joyous Sunday at AIC Pombo as we officially handed over a vehicle to Reverend Chemjor, a generous gift from Murkomen," Kiborek wrote in a Facebook post.
Why did Murkomen gift priest a car?
According to Kiborek, the gesture was a tribute to a relationship that began in 2002, when the reverend hosted Murkomen during an evangelism mission.
"In a beautiful full-circle moment, Chemjor once hosted Murkomen at his home during his 2002 evangelism mission. May God bless Murkomen and Chemjor as they continue to serve faithfully," he added.
Murkomen has long been vocal about his Christian values. During his vetting for a Cabinet post in 2024, he recalled his time at the University of Nairobi (UoN), where he served as the chair of the Christian Union (CU).
"Mr Speaker, at UoN, I served as the CU chair not only for the school, but also as the chairman of CU leadership fellowships across the country. I have been brought up and mentored in Christian leadership service," he told the vetting panel.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Murkomen recently visited the family of Catholic priest Father Alloys Cheruiyot Bett, who was fatally shot in Cheplasgei Village, Nandi county.

What did Murkomen say about killed Catholic priest?
During his visit, the CS condemned the killing as an act of terror orchestrated by remnants of a shrinking network of bandits and vowed an intensified manhunt to bring the culprits to justice.
He revealed that recent government security operations in the troubled Kerio Valley had resulted in the arrest of multiple suspects.
However, he warned that the crackdown had pushed frustrated criminals to target innocent civilians, including peace actors, in a desperate bid to disrupt security efforts.
Murkomen said that the murder of Bett was not directly linked to cattle rustling, but was part of a disturbing trend in which civilians were being targeted to create fear and destabilise government efforts.
The priest’s killing, along with the recent murders of Boniface Ongote and Simon Njaga in the same region, prompted a renewed response from the national government.
