During the attack, one officer from Bondeni Police Station was shot dead while two others sustained injuries.

Those injured were rushed to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara disclosed that five suspects have been arrested and an AK-47 was recovered.
"On the night of June 1st, 2025, the robbers ambushed and opened fire at police officers on foot patrol, killing one and injuring two. The injured officers are still receiving treatment," Kibaara said.
Kibaara stated that the police are conducting a manhunt for more suspects as investigations into the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack continue.
County police commander Michael Mwaura displayed the recovered AK-47 rifle and three rounds of ammunition seized from the five suspects who are linked to recent shootings in Nakuru that left four M-Pesa agents dead.
"A team of detectives deployed to hunt down a daring armed gang that had become the nightmare of Nakuru County dwellers has rounded up the five gang members and recovered the AK 47 used in their crime spree," the DCI said.

The incident comes a few weeks after a renowned businessman was shot dead by armed assailants in Nakuru's Pipeline area.
The attack occurred around 8pm on Wednesday, May 21, in front of his home and left his wife injured.
The incident shocked the neighbourhood and sparked protests, with angry residents taking to the streets to condemn the rising insecurity in the area.
The businessman, identified as Jackson Mwangi Macharia, was attacked while closing his roadside business, which he had run for several years at the front of his compound.
Eyewitnesses said two assailants armed with a gun and a machete ambushed the couple as they were wrapping up for the day.
Lilian Chebai, a resident of nearby Joyland estate, told TUKO.co.ke that criminal activities in the area have been on the rise. Despite repeated pleas to security authorities, no effective action has been taken.
