Who killed businessman Jackson Mwangi Macharia?

The incident comes a few weeks after a renowned businessman was shot dead by armed assailants in Nakuru's Pipeline area.

The attack occurred around 8pm on Wednesday, May 21, in front of his home and left his wife injured.

The incident shocked the neighbourhood and sparked protests, with angry residents taking to the streets to condemn the rising insecurity in the area.

The businessman, identified as Jackson Mwangi Macharia, was attacked while closing his roadside business, which he had run for several years at the front of his compound.

Eyewitnesses said two assailants armed with a gun and a machete ambushed the couple as they were wrapping up for the day.

Lilian Chebai, a resident of nearby Joyland estate, told TUKO.co.ke that criminal activities in the area have been on the rise. Despite repeated pleas to security authorities, no effective action has been taken.

As residents mourn the tragic killing of Jackson Mwangi Macharia in Nakuru’s Pipeline estate, security experts warn that such attacks highlight deeper structural problems within Kenya’s urban security system.
