Why CA stopped live coverage of Gen Z protests
Meanwhile, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) ordered all the media outlets in the country to stop live broadcasting of the June 25 anniversary demonstrations.
In a letter to the media houses, CA threatened the media houses with the stoppage of signals should they continue with the coverage.
The protests across various parts of the country had picked up momentum, with the broadcasters amplifying every event as they unfolded in real time.
According to the authority, media houses were contravening the law by airing the live protests across the country.
CA officials raided NTV and Citizen TV transmission sites and switched off their free-to-air signals during the Gen Z-led protests.
