Why George Koimburi staged his abduction

The prosecution told the court that Koimburi staged his abduction to avoid being arrested over four counts related to land fraud that were pending at the Kiambu Law Courts.

"At the Milimani Law Courts, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), represented by Prosecution Counsel Victor Owiti and Nora Achieng, informed the court that the lawmaker had staged the abduction to avoid arrest and arraignment at Kiambu Law Courts, where he was scheduled to face four counts related to land fraud," ODPP said in a statement.

The state prosecutor told the court that Koimburi, a close ally of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, conspired to defeat justice in Mugutha area, Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County, on May 25, 2025.
