North Eastern people with disability chairperson Hafid Maalim has singled out George as a huge inspiration and pacesetter to creativity despite his societal status.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Maalim said George's decision to venture into the Matatu business despite being the president’s son means he has chosen his path in life.

"That is what life is all about-being independent-minded, choosing a path to pursue and working tirelessly to achieve your dreams,” he said
“The young man would perhaps have chosen something bigger in the corporate world, but he has followed his heart and is now revolutionising the Matatu sector,” he added

The President’s son officially unveiled his latest high-end matatu named Mood, a KSh 14 million ride complete with bucket seats, custom interiors, and a fully installed DJ mixing deck.

This sparked a lot of public debate, with young people acknowledging George’s vibe and love for the urban Matatu culture.

The Matatu culture comes with diverse opportunities due to the lifestyle branding, culture and the music setup.

Hafid has also advised young people to take advantage of the creative economy and content creation to make ends meet.

“Creating YouTube videos from whatever setup and sharing of innovative products online is a well-paying global trend worth emulating,” he added.

His potential for global reach allows them to connect with diverse audiences and build a strong following that transcends geographical boundaries.

In Kenya, the creative economy has so far offered a space for young individuals to leverage their creativity and expertise across numerous industries, such as content creation, social media influencing, and online entrepreneurship, which Hafid says should be explored more.
