Why did Uhuru Kenyatta visit the State House Nairobi?

Uhuru is among the ranking African dignitaries attending the meeting on the progress made in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) peace process.

Kenya's former head of state is attending the meeting in his capacity as the facilitator of the process.

However, despite being a formal meeting, Kenyans were keen to see how the two interacted, given their past differences.

A video of Ruto welcoming the former president on his arrival at State House ignited reactions, as the duo could be seen exchanging greetings cheerfully.

How did Kenyans react to the Uhuru-Ruto meeting?

The light exchange between the two led some Kenyans to suggest that Uhuru was never keen on having Raila Odinga as president in 2022.

Some advised the former prime minister to cut his political ties with Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.

How is Ruto planning to woo back Mt Kenya?

The Uhuru and Ruto meeting comes weeks after reports emerged that the Kenya Kwanza government is developing a strategy to woo back the Mt. Kenya votes.

Laikipia East Member of Parliament Mwangi Kiunjuri disclosed that the Ruto team will reach out to Uhuru ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to Kiunjuri, there are no permanent enemies in politics, and there is a likelihood of Ruto and Uhuru working together in 2027.
