Who won the SportPesa mega jackpot?

Bonnie Kamau secured a staggering KSh 424,660,618 after correctly predicting all the matches.

While disclosing the winner, SportPesa stated that Bonnie correctly predicted all 17 matches played on Sunday, August 3.

"Bonnie Kamau has become the latest SportPesa Mega Jackpot millionaire after winning Ksh 424,660,618. This is after the man correctly predicted the outcome of 17/17 games in the matches played on Sunday, August 3, 2025," said SportPesa.

According to the gaming firm, Bonnie is the first person to win the mega jackpot since 2018.

"The win makes it the first time the SportPesa Mega Jackpot has been won since 2018. Since, 2018, tumengoja saaana, Kshs. 424,660,618 SportPesa Mega Jackpot has been WON!🤯It has never been seen before in Kenya, huyu ni wa kwanzaaaaaaaa! Weeuuhhh, Congratulations Bonnie!" the gaming firm stated.

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, financial coach expert Mwendwa Mutiso, weighed in on Bonnie Kamau’s remarkably calm reaction to the life-changing win. He explained that such composure may stem from deliberate emotional regulation or an individual’s pre-existing psychological conditioning.

According to Mutiso, not every winner will erupt with jubilation. Some individuals, especially those with strong internal controls, often process overwhelming news with caution and restraint.

"It is not uncommon for some people to react with calmness even in moments of great fortune. Such a response may indicate psychological preparedness, cultural upbringing, or a deep-seated belief in managing emotions regardless of circumstance," he told TUKO.co.ke.

Who are the SportPesa Mega Jackpot winners?

In the statement, SportPesa shared the list of Kenyans who have won the mega jackpots since 2017.

The first mega jackpot was won by Samuel Abisai in April 2017.

Abisai was followed by three joint winners: Daniel Rono, Geoffrey Keitany and Florence Machogu won for the second time in May 2017.

Gordon Ogada was the third winner in February 2018. Cosmas Korir was the last in September 2018.

Ogada remains the highest football jackpot winner in the country, having bagged a mouthwatering KSh 230,742,881 on SportPesa.

On the other hand, Abisai and Korir won KSh 221,301, 602 and KSh 208,733,619, respectively, by trying their luck on the SportPesa Mega Jackpot.

How did Bonnie react?

Sportepesa CEO Ronald Karauri later placed a call to Bonnie to inform him about the life-changing win that had come his way.

In the audio recording shared by the betting firm, Bonnie appeared relaxed and showed no excitement upon receiving the good news.

His calmness and composure got the attention of Karauri, who inquired why he was not excited about the mega jackpot win, which had never been won since 2018.

In response, the lucky winner said that he was naturally a calm man who had been raised and trained to be humble and collected regardless of the situation.

Kenyans were fascinated by Bonnie's demeanour, with some opening up on how they would have celebrated had they recieved such a call from the betting firm.

Some even doubted if the bettor had actually won the coveted prize.

On his part, Karauri congratulated him and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.

How policeman won SportPesa midweek jackpot

In June, George Wasonga, a police officer, accurately predicted matches in the midweek jackpot to walk away with KSh 11,096,045.

Following a series of jackpot winners since January, the 57-year-old man became the gaming firm's sixth winner this year.

Wasonga attributed his win to strategies he perfected over time and recalled past challenges, particularly regarding educational expenses.

How a Gikomba trader won the SportPesa jackpot

Another winner this year was a small business owner from Nairobi’s Gikomba market, identified as Livingston Ouma.

Ouma correctly predicted all the outcomes to win KSh 14,978,528 in the SportPesa 13-match jackpot.

The small-scale trade revealed that he never believed the news of his win until he received official confirmation from the gaming company.

Having grown up in an orphanage, Ouma pledged a significant portion of his winnings to the orphanage that raised him, as well as to the family that supported him during difficult times.
