Nakuru —A deadly crash on the Mai Mahiu–Narok Highway late last night claimed several lives and left many injured after a trailer struck an Ena Coach bus travelling from Nairobi to Kehancha, Migori.

The crash occurred at around 11pm on Saturday, August 9, in the Mai Mahiu area.
What is the cause of Mai Mahiu accident?
According to preliminary reports, the accident is believed to have been caused by a brake failure on the trailer, which sent it crashing into the bus and several other vehicles.

Emergency responders rushed the injured to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital, while the exact number of fatalities remains unconfirmed.
Police officers at the scene found the bus overturned on a hilly stretch, with bystanders gathering around the wreckage. One car was completely destroyed.
The incident has sparked concern on social media, with Kenyans urging those whose relatives may have been travelling on the bus to check on their safety.
The latest incident comes hours after several accidents in the past week, which have claimed dozens of lives.

Woman mourns 13 relatives killed in Kisumu accident
Meanwhile, the incident occurred just two days after 26 people were killed in the Coptic Roundabout accident in Kisumu.
Florence Akoth was heartbroken after learning that 13 of her close relatives died in the crash while 26 remain hospitalised at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The crash involved an AIC Naki High School bus, which was transporting the passengers from a funeral of their relative in Nyahera.
