Kameme TV reported that the Grade 7 pupil was murdered and her body dumped in a bush on Wednesday, August 13.

Preliminary investigations show that she had been sent by her grandmother to a shop in broad daylight but never returned.

Police in Ol-Kalou have already launched investigations into the incident as villagers and family call for a speedy probe.

It is suspected that the minor was assaulted before being killed, and her body was later abandoned.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could aid in the investigation to come forward.

When did Eva Maina last see her daughter?

In other sad news, a two-year-old girl was found dead days after being reported missing in Kiagi Village, Katatina, Nyeri county.

According to the family, Grace Nyaguthii went missing on July 30 under mysterious circumstances.

Eva Maina, the children's mother, told police that her toddler daughter and nine-year-old son were playing in the neighbourhood, as they usually did, while she prepared lunch. She didn't realise her daughter had disappeared.

After eight days of searching, the family was left heartbroken after Grace's body was found dumped in the Ragati River.

Addressing the press, Mathira East Police Commander, Samson Leweri, called on parents to remain vigilant, noting that cases of children disappearing had been on the rise.
