In the recent past, protesters in Kenya have been arrested and arraigned to be charged using the anti-terrorism law.
Speaking during a Jukwaa La Usalama forum in Murang'a, Jonathan Wandera suggested an alternative to what he said were "trumped-up charges".
Instead of using the anti-terror law to charge the protesters, Wandera asked the government to consider training the youth.
"This is a national concern. You will agree with me that the security forces, especially led by the two DIGs, instead of chomping up charges against those guys who are protesting, I have a different of thought. We can subject these young men to augmented rapid one-month training, upon which they will be deployed to the combat operation areas. I will give you an example; the Burkina Faso president, Obama, took a medic who was trying to critique the security forces into a combat zone just to cool off his suffering mind. We can implement this," he said.
