Senior Cop Petitions William Ruto to Post Him to DRC as Consul General: "I Speak Congolese"

An assistant county commissioner from Murang'a County has pleaded with President William Ruto to deploy him to the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as a Kenyan envoy.

Jonathan Wandera cited his language prowess as his stronghold.

He boasts speaking Congolese Lingala, which he believes makes him a good fit for the consul general roles in Goma.

Wandera requested the president through Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

"I have a very special message to His Excellency, the President, a special message. Now, there is the case of the Consul General, who has been revoked by the government of the DRC. I'm the only one in the service who speaks Congolese Lingala. The only one in the whole country. So as the president assigns others, he should remember me in that role," he said.
