How did Kangundo Road accident occur?

The accident happened when a motorbike crashed into a Toyota Voxy, killing two people on the spot.

According to a report by NTV, the boda boda was being driven at high speed before the fatal accident occurred.

“We arrived at the scene and found a motorbike had collided with a personal vehicle. Two people died on the spot, but we don’t know where they were coming from before the accident,” a witness said.

“We investigated to determine what went wrong and found that two motorbikes were following each other, with one attempting to overtake the other,” another witness said.

Witnesses said the Voxy was turning off Kangundo Road when the motorbike crashed into it. The vehicle was slightly damaged, and the motorbike was found on the roadside.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kangundo Mortuary for preservation pending identification by family members.

Officers from Matungulu Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Area residents urged boda boda riders to exercise caution on the roads to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.

Images shared online showed the personal vehicle’s bonnet completely damaged. The two victims were taken to Nakuru Mortuary for preservation pending identification.

Other boda boda-related accidents

  • Two people died after their motorbike collided with an oncoming lorry on the Keroka-Masimba Highway. The lorry driver fled the scene, leaving the victims in critical condition. Their bodies were taken to the Keroka Hospital morgue.
  • Two people were killed, and 11 others injured after a matatu crashed into a boda boda in Mombasa county’s Bangladesh area. The rider and passenger died on the spot from the impact. Governor Abdulswamad Nassir offered his condolences to the affected families.
  • Three people died after their boda boda collided head-on with a vehicle on the Homa Bay-Kendu Bay Highway. The rider and one passenger died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital. Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua said that a secondary school student was among the victims.
