A video captured in Mombasa city shows the moment a tuk-tuk came to the rescue of a police vehicle.

How did tuk-tuk driver help police?

The clip, recorded at night, showed the red tuk-tuk with a rope tied to its back. The other end of the rope was tied to a police Land Cruiser 70 series.

Both vehicles had their hazard lights on as the tuk-tuk pulled the pickup truck.

It was unclear what was wrong with the police vehicle, but it was unlike the Toyota reputation of dependability.

According to Toyota Kenya, the vehicle is designed with a “solid body, integrated airbags and large windows for full visibility.

She swiftly jumped over a ditch and outran the officer, who struggled to keep up.

Her speed and agility impressed many online, who praised her as a reflection of the region’s reputation for producing world-class athletes.

The clip sparked admiration and amusement across social media, with many commenting on the irony of police being outpaced in an area known for champions.
