The institution, which has served the community for over a decade since its establishment in January 2014, is now in a deplorable state.

Why Kapkongor Primary School parents are worried

With crumbling structures and overcrowded learning spaces, pupils and teachers are struggling under increasingly harsh conditions.

Currently, Grade Seven learners have been forced to share a classroom with ECDE (Early Childhood Development Education) pupils due to the lack of adequate facilities.

This situation is not only compromising the quality of education but also exposing children to potential health and safety risks.

A source told TUKO.co.ke that despite repeated pleas for help, residents say their cries have fallen on deaf ears.

How old is Kapkongor Primary School?

They accuse their leaders of failing to respond to their long-standing concerns about the deteriorating state of the school.

“This school has served our children for 10 years, and now it’s falling apart. We have reached out so many times to our leaders, but nothing has been done,” said a concerned parent.

With an enrollment of 130 pupils, Kapkongor Primary School plays a critical role in the local education landscape.

Community members are now urging county and national education officials to intervene before the situation worsens.

“This is not just about infrastructure; it’s about our children's future. We cannot afford to sit back and watch as their right to quality education is taken away,” added another resident.

For this school to look like this, it means it has been ignored for a decade. It is good to acknowledge that and, with good manners, ask the MP to consider the school for a face-lift."

Chirchir Loverine Senge:

"Hon Joel Kimutai Ngotoiywo once posted this very school way back in 2018. I hope the current regime does something on this."

The collapse occurred after several days of torrential rainfall weakened the foundation, causing the walls to cave in internally.

From the outside, the hole appears negligible, but the interior damage is extensive and poses a significant danger to the school's students.
