Politicians killed in a road crash during development tour

TUKO.co.ke previously reported a related incident where four Kenyans, including two politicians, lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Moroto-Napak Road in Tapaach, Uganda, on Saturday, March 22.

The victims were travelling in a West Pokot county government vehicle when the crash happened.

According to West Pokot County Commissioner Khaliff Abdullahi, investigations were launched immediately to establish the exact cause of the accident.

Preliminary reports indicated that among the deceased were two political aspirants, one who had contested for the Kapenguria MP seat in the 2022 General Election, and another who had vied for a Member of County Assembly (MCA) position.

The four were reportedly part of a larger delegation accompanying Pokot South MP David Pkosing on a 10-day development tour across neighbouring Uganda.

Following the fatal crash, Kenyan and Ugandan officials coordinated the repatriation of the victims' bodies, which were later moved to Cherangany Mortuary in Kitale, Trans Nzoia county.
